“Adrian Avocado,” 10 days old

Three brown leaves – help! Is this normal? Is it because we planted it in mud? (I’ve read since then that they don’t like “wet feet.”) The leaves seem shiny and healthy otherwise.

The mother tree, next door, has leaves the same color at the very top, so I’m hoping it’s just a normal stage.

Looks like new leaves or maybe the sunlight turned them darker…which happens with some plants (like hopseed). Yes, they look shiny and healthy though. Be careful with this new plant in the heat. Diane
