The Apple and the Whale

Despite the claims of everyone from Milton to Mark Twain, it wasn’t an apple. It was fruit from the “tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”

And despite Veggie Tales, it wasn’t a whale. It could have been something like a grouper or a Mola-Mola.* But it wasn’t a whale. It was a “great fish.”

There. I got that off my chest.

Whales could not swallow a man. Most of them can’t swallow anything bigger than microscopic plankton.Fish such as groupers can swallow a Volkswagen–or, presumably, Cameron Diaz:
